radio broadcast journalism placements

Radio placements in Ghana

Radio stations in Ghana are independent and are renowned for their energetic phone-ins during which no subject is taboo, from the current political issues of the day, through religion to the performance of the local and national football teams (another religion in Ghana)!

You will be based at one of our partner radio stations in Cape Coast or Takoradi that broadcast to the Central and Western Regions of Ghana. The stations usually cover a wide range of topics from local and international news to features based programmes and of course phone-ins.

While at the radio station, you will be able to gain experience in production, usually starting off as a broadcast assistant while you find your feet but then, depending on your experience and aptitude, you will be able to move on to script writing, editing, research, technical support and, if you have the talent, broadcasting.

Accommodation on this project is at our house in Cape Coast, sharing with the other volunteers on our media, medical, orphanage and teaching projects. For more click here>>
