Print and online journalism placements in Romania
Romanians cherish their right to free speech, something that was denied them before the revolution of December 1989. The media industry is therefore incredibly valuable to 21st century Romanian society and this programme is a great opportunity to see this first hand.
You will be based in Brasov, which nestles in the stunning Carpathian Mountains, and will work at the only English language magazine in the area. The magazine is aimed at the growing population of English speaking visitors and those keen to improve their English.
The magazine reports on a wide variety of local and regional events. It has sections reporting on business, education, art and culture and tourism as well as food and drink. When in the field you’ll be accompanied by local university students, keen to practice their English, who will work as your translators so this will also be a great opportunity to be part of a multi cultural team.
Like most publications, the magazine also has an online presence, so this is a great project for those looking for experience in online media where deadlines are minutes rather than hours away.
Brasov Visitor is a full colour magazine so you can specialise in photography, as well as print or website publication. Special photo-journalism courses can be organised on request.
