Print journalism placements

Print and online journalism in Ghana

Ghana is West Africa's most stable and democratic country and a great place to work in a media industry that is relatively young, fast growing and incredibly vibrant. Our print and online journalism placements in Ghana are based in the beautiful provincial town of Cape Coast.

We work with a variety of publications that report to larger media companies based in Ghana's capital city Accra but our main placement is a regional newspaper published in Cape Coast and circulated around the Central Region.

Depending on your background and experience, you will start by working alongside a staff journalist at one of our partner publications learning how to write a feature, the secrets of interviewing and much more. You will spend time on assignment with your Ghanaian partner co-researching and co-writing features or news reports, submitting them before the critical deadline. Your partner will work with you to ensure that you have an understanding of the tools you will need - page layout software etc, as well as give you an understanding of the rules and regulations journalists in Ghana must stick to.

Once you have demonstrated that you can work independently, you will then be set your own assignments to research.
